The Waiting Game

Being the mom of two small kids, it seems more than once a month I am taking them to see the doctor. Whether is be a cold, an injury or for shots there is always a day I commit to spending the day in the waiting room. Why is it you hurry up to make the appointment and you end up sitting and waiting around for a half an hour or more to actually get to be seen?
When the time you are seen to your exam room with kids in tow, you anxiously await the doctor to magically appear like an angel in one her designer women's lab coats in less than five minutes!
But, you sit and wait, read all the magazines they have in the room and maybe change a diaper or two. I'm really thinking about raising this issue of the hurry up and wait game that is played every time I have an appointment. How many of you have this dilemma? Ah the many little games that we play as mothers!
